Course Lessons

  1. The Grand Staff, Different Note Names and How to Identify them on the Staff : The lesson shall help the student gain an in depth knowledge and mastery of the different note names as they learn to locate where they are on the keyboard and on the piano as well.
  2. Movement, Time Value and Types of Notes : The student should be provided with the understanding of how notes move on the staff. This lesson aims to explain the movement of notes on the staff and the types of notes and number of beats each note receives.
  3. Understanding the Time and the Key Signature : It is important that the student understands the time and key signature. Learning to read notes and understanding the time and key signatures in music will make a good musical foundation in every student.
  4. Dynamics, Repeat Sign and the Different Rests : In order to be a good piano player, one must follow the dynamic markings and watch out for them in a piece.
  5. Articulation : This lesson aims to explain and describe the different ways of articulation used in piano playing so that the student will have the opportunity to learn and use them properly and in order for the student to become well rounded players.
  6. TEMPO : This lesson shall explain what tempo is in music and help the student understand the importance of tempo and how to observe it while practicing.
